Join us on this adventure in Borneo where we challenge ourselves on mountains, jungles, rivers and seas! This is one that we put together ourselves for an adventure that no one else is offering!

Apart from the above, it's pretty much all included in the price. You are looked after from beginning to end by expert local guides, you don't even need a visa for Borneo. 


Borneo Adventure - Itinerary 

DAY 1Arrive Kota Kinabalu - Borneo - Arrive in the exciting Capital of Borneo Kota Kinabalu (KK) - relax - Hostel

DAY 2 - Kota Kinabalu Briefing -  we take in our surroundings by the South China Sea.  Departure to Mount Kinabalu the following morning - Hostel

DAY 3 - Mt Kinabalu - Early start as we drive to the national Park and start the ascent up Mount Kinabalu with qualified local guide. Hike through the forest to reach the Mountain Hut for the night where you will receive instruction and equipment for the following day's climb and Via Ferrata!

DAY 4 - Mt Kinabalu - Early start as you ascend Mount Kinabalu to reach the Summit for sunrise. After this, gear up as you tackle one of the worlds highest Via Ferrata's and climb around the top of Mt Kinabalu! Descend to base and relax. - coach journey to hotel.

DAY 5 - Jungle/Wildlife - As you travel to the East of Borneo into the Jungle you visit the Orangutan Sanctuary in the Morning before heading to the Jungle lodge where you depart on a river safari to attempt to see Orangutans, Pygmy Elephants, and much more wildlife. Short Night Jungle trek with more wildlife - overnight Jungle Lodge.

DAY 6 - Wildlife/Cave - you go on another river safari into the jungle this morning at sunrise to maximise your chance of seeing wildlife. You then travel by coach to one of the largest Caves in Asia before taking a short internal flight back to KK for the night. (included in price)

DAY 7 - White Water Rafting - Today you travel by bus and train to the Padas river for some adrenaline 3 to 4 grade rapids. Test yourself as you white water raft down through the jungle on the Head Hunter rapids. Return to KK - Night Seafood Market.

DAY 8 - Scuba Dive/Snorkel - On your dive boat you head off to an island in the South China Sea to Scuba Dive or Snorkel off the coral reefs for the day. Return to KK for celebration meal and spend the  night in the 4 star Grandis Hotel with amazing sunset views over the South China Sea from the poolside roof bar! 

DAY 9 - Fly back to the UK - After a relaxing morning buying gifts/shopping - return flight to the UK

Frequently Asked Questions

I don't have any PADI dive qualifications will this effect me at all for the diving on the last day?
Not at all, the trip is planned around those that have not done these kind of activities before. The diving will be a PADI Discover Diving day for novices, you receive instruction in the morning and dive that afternoon. There is also the option just to snorkel if you want. Or if you are already an open water diver you can go out on a different boat.

 

What equiptment do I need for the mountain climb?

You don't need much but below is the basic kit you'll need:

  • 1 x Change of clothes (for camp or hut)
  • 1 x Waterproof Jacket
  • 1 x Loose fitting breathable shirt
  • 1 x warm hat
  • 2 x Walking socks
  • 1 x 30 litre Rucksack
  • 1 x fleece

I've never done anything like this trip before, how fit do I need to be?

Don't worry, this whole trip with all the activities has been designed for those that have never done anything like it before. The trekking will be a slow steady pace and you always have the option to opt out of an activity if you just wanted to relax.
